Thank you for your interest in Chashama’s Space to Present Program

Chashama is actively seeking proposals for performances to take place at Anita's Way from July to October.

Anita's Way is a covered, public stage located within the through block connecting W 42nd and W 43rd Streets between 6th Ave and Broadway

What You Should Know Before Applying:

  • Content must be appropriate for all ages.
  • Shows must be free and open to the public.
  • Participants are responsible for leaving the space as they found it or in better condition.
  • Small stipends are sometimes available for performances, but should not be anticipated.
  • You are welcome to apply for multiple dates. The more flexible your dates are the easier it will be to place your performance.
  • This form is for performance-based proposals. If your proposal includes a strong visual component (such as an installation or art exhibition that can be viewed by the public even when performances or rehearsals are not occurring), please use our Visual Arts form instead.

Materials You Will Need For Applying:

  • Contact information for a professional reference.
  • Performance Logistics (300 words or less).  Please detail the logistics of your proposal. What elements will make up the presentation? What props or set pieces, if any, will be used?
  • Artist Statement (200 words or less).
  • 5 images of recent work (.jpg, .png, .tiff)  that relate to the proposal. For video work, include 5 stills and a link to externally-hosted videos.
  • Dates and times you are available to perform. Or, please mention if you have flexibility in terms of timelines.

What You Should Know After Applying:

  • Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Only selected applicants will be contacted. We prioritize proposals that best work within our spaces.
  • Proposals will be kept on file for approximately one year as Chashama actively attempts to program them.

Thank you!
